Battery safety tips

Tor with the hammer has an unpredictable temperament, just like a battery if you handle it carelessly. Tor also has great strength, as does the Batterybox. By remembering Tor, it is also easy to remember the basics on how you should treat batteries safely, both for you and the environment.

Organise your batteries in a vented and fireproof container.

Recycle your batteries at the nearest return point.

If you insulate the terminals with tape, store in a fireproof container and then recycle batteries, batteries are safe. You are also helping the environment, valuable metals are recycled and you reduce the risk of fire.

  • Never throw batteries in the household waste! Batteries are special waste and must be recycled.
  • Always insulate both terminals with clear tape, both the + and -, on both depleted and new batteries not in their original packing.
  • Store used batteries in a vented and fireproof container.
  • Always store batteries in a room with a smoke alarm and out of the reach of small children.
  • Recycle your used batteries at the nearest return point.
  • Use only the type of battery recommended by the manufacturer for your product.
  • Do not mix battery types, make or model in the same device.
  • Never try to charge a non-rechargeable battery.
  • If a battery or device with built-in batteries is damaged, do not use and handle it with caution.
  • All products containing built-in batteries must also be recycled.
